This low volume IPA is perfect for summer time sessioning! It pours a pale, slightly hazy yellowish gold with a frothy white head that dissipates to a dense rim around the surface, leaving some nice lacing behind. The aroma is bursting with fruity hop characters; peach, grapefruit, mandarin orange, with notes of resinous, earthy pine. Flavor is all big, bright, fruity, hops; with all the piney, grapefurity goodness we love about west coast hops. It's still surprisingly hoppy for such a low volume beer (4.5% abv) but perfectly balanced by delicate, grainy malt that gives it a faint grassy, bready character in the background. It has a crisp, creamy, medium-bodied mouthfeel with a long bitter finish. Very tasty IPA!
This is a truly original saison, done in pure west coast fashion! It pours a bright straw gold with a creamy white head with low retention and good lacing. The flavor floods the palate with bright, herbal, lemon zest characters. Lavender, lemons, lemongrass, honey, thyme, and an earthy floral-ness all lead to a delightfully spicy finish loaded with belgian yeast, black pepper, and coriander. The mouthfeel is quite dry and refreshing with high carbonation and an ABV of 6%. Although it's a far cry from a traditional Belgian saison, it's completely unique, delicious, and 100% Stone!
