This beer pours a pale, hazy amber-gold with a creamy, off-white head leaving behind some thick, frothy lacing. The aroma is lots of sweet, toasty malt with moderately strong fruity notes of apple, peach, clove, and banana. Soft, biscuity, nutty malt flavors intermingle perfectly with orange peel, citrus, grapefruit, tart apple, and pear. All tell-tale signs of a hearty Belgian yeast. Hop profile is quite low compared to other stateside Belgian-style pales, bitterness is low and much more fruit-centered than an American-style IPA. This medium-bodied ale has a soft mouthfeel with elevated alcohol (6.7%) and medium carbonation, all leading to a dry, citrusy-sweet, malty finish.
Pouring dark brown to black in color, this stout boasts a creamy tan head with decent retention and lacing, and has an almost Cola-like appearance. Aroma is very roasty and grainy with strong layers of chocolate and roasted coffee. A subtle creamy-like sweetness is present from the lactose. The flavor is extremely roasty and malt-centered. The slight sweetness from the milk sugar is very well balanced by the dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and toffee flavors of the malt. Medium-full bodied, this stout has a soft, creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation, and a normal alcohol level (4.8%) that is barley noticeable on the palate. It all culminates to a nice, dry finish with high residual sweetness. Delicious!! My new favorite milk stout!!
Yes, you read that correctly! This is a foreign-style stout with colorado base malts, roasted barley, seven specialty malts, Styrian Golding hops, and 25 pounds of freshly roasted and sliced bull testicles! Pours a thick dark brown-black with a quickly dissipating dark tan head. Aroma is all sweet, nutty, roasty malt with chocolate, roasted coffee, and a welcome floral, estery, sweetness. Flavor is intense roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate dominating the palate. Very low bitterness with hops barely present. There is definitely an unmistakable gamey, mineral quality to it that lets you know in the back of your head, "yup, there's balls in this beer!" Very full-bodied with a thick, viscous mouthfeel, this stout has low carbonation, elevated alcohol (7.5%), and finishes sweet and gamey! This is one crazy novelty beer that definitely deserves a try. Grab a pair! Give one to a friend! See what happens!!
